About

Sas Yip is a Bahamian-American interdisciplinary artist working across performance, sound, textile, objects, and visual media. Her practice is rooted in a single question: what shifts when we treat the overlooked things in our lives — objects, sounds, ordinary moments — as worthy of deep attention?

She began her creative journey as a music composer in Berlin — formerly working under the name Shannon-Ashley Sea Novaa — before expanding her practice to include durational performance, textile works, object design, and documentary photography. She has exhibited and performed in several cities across Germany and the United States, produced work in Dakar, Senegal, and completed artist residencies at M.Bassy in Hamburg and with GIST. She is now based in Miami.

Her current work moves between presence, slowness, and the radical act of paying attention in a world built for distraction.
