Two Humans Kissing

2022 · Durational performance, video installation · Berlin, Germany

Two Humans Kissing is a durational performance and video installation celebrating Black, queer femme expression and intimacy. Three participants — paired in every combination — kiss one another for twenty uninterrupted minutes each, testing their physical and mental limits and their relationship to vulnerability. The sustained duration transforms what begins as a simple act into something far more demanding: an endurance of closeness.

Produced in collaboration with artists Chikamaraa, Gugulethu Duma, and Mandhla, with Céline Rodrigues Monteiro and Michelle Gutierrez producing, Kimani Schumann as director of photography, and Thais Nepomuceno on lighting and sound.
